I N T E G R I T Y
What does that really mean? It's doing what you said you would do, when you said you would do it. In other words, it's making a promise to yourself and keeping it.
I challenge myself regularly and restrict myself from things that I desire, such as sugar, dairy, caffeine, etc. This month I decided to not drink any alcohol. Let it be know that I don't do these things to punish myself. That's not it at all, and that's just one example. I've made several other promises to myself, and I don't always share them to people, because not all of them need to be shared. Sharing them though, does keep you honest.
One of my promises to myself is to step into a leadership role in all applicable areas in my life this year. I recently elected to be my group leader in my night class, and at work I've taken on a project that will allow me to be the point person on a particular subject matter in online advertising. I've also promised to update GG on regular basis - daily is my goal.
The thing is, I can SAY I want to do all of these awesome things, but if I don't actually DO them (when I said I would do them) then I completely lack personal integrity. It then creates a domino effect of disappointments.
If you can't manage to keep to your word, how do you think it would impact your life?
What would it look like if you kept to your word? You have a choice in the matter.
