I want to bring into your awareness something a bit rudimentary, but very powerful. That is the battle within ourselves between that which we know to be right, and that which we know to be wrong. Or, the battle between good and evil. Perhaps you've never really paid attention to this force within yourself. Maybe this is completely new to you, and that's totally okay. But trust me - it's there. (This isn't about Star Wars, but if you've seen the movies, you know the deal.)
Think about it this way...
So then WHY do we stay up past our bedtimes? There's a reason why we were once given bed times! (I was told the little white lie that if I slept, I would grow tall! Whatever it takes, parents. Whatever it takes.)
At the core, you know what you are supposed to do. You hear the little whisper inside your head, but you're being pulled in the opposite direction. "Do I have another shot? Do I stay up and watch Jersey Shore? Do I go to the gym even though I got out of work late and I'm so tired I might cry?" Most people give up the fight because it's easier to throw in the towel and go in the opposite direction of where you need to be. No one's holding a gun to your head, but you are the one with your finger on the trigger.
Think about your day yesterday, or your week last week.
Can you think of a moment where you were called to do what you felt was right, and didn't? Why did you chose to make that decision? Can you forgive yourself and love yourself for that? And can you start to bring this idea of "the battle within" into your awareness?
