I for one, don't think that any ONE person is going to be responsible for drastically changing my world. But, if I must fit into a box and be labeled I would say that I am morally democratic and fiscally republican. Granted, I'm not 100% informed on what's going on in our government, but what I'm seeing today doesn't resonate with me. At all. I'm more prone to following what Ghandi once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
It may seem like a daunting task. Because if you do become the change - doesn't that mean you inevitably inherit more responsibilities? But consider that you are capable, and you are really only in control of yourself.
Everyone is vastly different. We know that it's impossible to change another human being. Think about how large of an undertaking that would be to change ONE person; other than yourself. Your internal foundation is the only thing you have control over, right? This is why it is CRUCIAL to understand yourself, so that you can better undertand others. Not saying that you can't INFLUENCE the people around you. Sure, the company you keep may "change" or mildly adapt through some weird osmosis, but consider that YOU personally did not flip that switch for them. That's on them.
So this election, it's more than just voting for a candidate. It's more than just choosing sides. It's about doing your part to add value to our society.
