This isn't said nearly as much as it should be. It could be a symptom of people not listening as well as they should be. Maybe they just had a text message come in, or maybe they're daydreaming of what fabulous life they should be leading. It could also be from people not communicating well enough what they are intending to say. Like traffic, it does go both ways.
REFUSE TO BE CONFUSED.
There have been too many times in your life where you were left standing alone in front of a bar wondering when you're friends were going to get there. You spoke with them for a few brief moments and when you hung up you had no idea what the hell they just said. Even more, you don't really know what you agreed to. Too many distractions, you say. It was loud there. There's an endless assortment of reasons why you don't know why they're "running late", when in reality, you are far too early. What you are now left doing is piecing together the conversation like a broken vase.
Think of all the time, energy, and trouble you would save by just admitting you are unclear. It'll hurt at first, but you'll enjoy being out of the dark!
It's nice and warm in the light. Come on over and bask in it! Today when you are even slightly unclear of what someone said, email or texted, be bold and ask them to explain further. You will be happy you did. Believe or not, so will they.
