The words on the card were so simple, and so powerful. What's more, he signed it, "your TRUE friend". Let me give you a quick bio on my friend Dan. He and I lived on the same floor in college, and he made me laugh (which isn't that tall of an order) - so I made him become my friend. We sorta made a deal that we'd be BFF4L. Cut to nearly 10 years later, I live in the NYC metropolitan area, and he lives in Buffalo, NY. Essentially, worlds apart.
What I'm grateful for though, is that no matter how much time or how much distance is between us, we always manage to pick up right where we left off. He sent me the flowers because he couldn't be here for me in person as I graduated from a personal growth seminar. He knew this meant a lot to me, and he was able to still be present with me via this awesome, kind, gesture. So, Dan - THANKS SO MUCH! I LOVE YOU.
Doing nice things for people doesn't only make them feel good, but it makes you feel good to. What kind thing can you do for someone today?
