The spiritual powers within the 7 energy centers, or chakras (pictured above) are:
- power to let go
This is really just a practical reminder of how powerful you are.
Meditation is a time to review and examine ourselves through each of these energy centers. With this practice, both morning and night time, it's a chance to review what goodness we have contributed. What negativity we bring to situations. We review our choices. Were they draining or nourishing?
Later on in the meditation we look a power. What is Power for you? Your ego/identity/mind (everything but YOU) will be the first answer. Ask again. Power is ___________________.
Where am I losing power and why? When I know myself to know better.
Then we look at attachment versus commitment. What are you attached to? What attachments draw your power away from you? Would you be embarrassed to admit this? If yes, then you know you're sitting on some level of truth within yourself. The lesson here is that shame and embarrassment are great teachers.
Practice putting yourself into a circumstances that are very uncomfortable. See how much power you have. Then do not be ruffled by that. Command your power back. Are you strong enough to do that? No matter what type of energy comes at you, you don't lose yourself. Can you do that? Holding your center and say that you have a role to manage your energy.
Consistent meditation helps with dissociation from the dis-empowering thoughts inside your head throughout the day. "Memories of the past, 'coulda shoulda woulda', or unresolved anguish...keeping those things alive will cost you your power!" Direct your focus in a different direction that is more empowering for you.
