We were all given five senses to experience the world around us. Not only sight, but touch, taste, sound, and smell. When you use just one, or any combination of these, you become aware of everything tangible around you; creating a definitive universe. But why does everything have to be definitive? You may think you can see stress, anxiety, fear, and doubt. But try to describe what it looks like.
I like to think that when we 'feel' these emotions, it comes from another type of sense. One that we all have the ability to create an awareness about. Instinct.
Something I believe that you should always be working on is not the idea of stepping out of your comfort zone, rather to expand your comfort zone so you still feel comfortable. Ask yourself: What scares me and why? Some people are afraid of spiders, but if you were to do a little research into the topic you would see that spiders aren't as dangerous as one might think.
A friend told me last night that the average human being can only hold their breath under water for 30 seconds. He says that he can hold his for up to two minutes at times. I believe him because he is a dolphin trainer and scuba certified. I asked him what stops most people from reaching past that 30 seconds. His answer was simple but vast. Most people panic too soon because they don't know the actual limitations off their own body. I'm not saying to go jump into a pool right now and try this. He has been taught and trained to be able to do this on a regular basis.
So if you can take something like breathe, the fuel for life, and alter it, whats stopping you from applying this to other areas of your life you are not comfortable with? So whatever it is in your life that you 'want' but have not obtained, give it energy. Expand your comfort zone through knowledge. Strengthen your instinct through research. We are all living on this earth as part of a network.
We are all connected and there is absolutely no reason to think that you have to keep your comfort zone so small. Life is a balance, but that does not mean that you can't expand the scale. Once you do this you will realize that you are no longer 'stepping outside' of your comfort zone. You will be living very comfortably and nothing will be impossible.
