Let's just get this out of the way now; you are a human being and you are perfect.
This just in: You don't need to be fixed!
Most likely, that goes against what you've heard your whole life. I'm fairly certain that you've been told that "nobody is perfect" a time or two. To some degree that may be true, but I want you to consider this: You were made perfectly.
Now just stop there. Don't pay attention to the inevitable objections that are sprouting forward in your mind. You are who you are, and you are perfect just the way you are - scars included.
Have you ever been in a social setting with a group of people, be it colleagues, family, or friends, talking about other people who may not be in that setting?
The latter comment comes from a place of insecurity, which stems from the very thing that person is admiring in the other person. What we like or admire in others, is what we actually seek in ourselves. Conversely, when you sit around gossiping or complaining about another person, all you're really doing is identifying something you don't like about yourself in that complaint.
There is a distinction between wanting to improve oneself and wanting to be like someone else. It's important to understand that YOU are not like anyone else, and it's okay. If you're the funny guy/girl, then you're the funny guy/girl. Chances are, you're not the sassy guy/girl. Someone else fills the role of the sassy guy/girl. Bottom line is, you are who you and you don't need to change yourself to appease anyone else. If someone doesn't like you as is, that is NOT YOUR PROBLEM. No, really. It's not your problem! Love yourself, flaws and all. Other people's approval is not necessary.
"I don't care what you think about me. I don't think about you at all."
- Coco Chanel
It's alright to be happy with yourself - just the way you are. We love you.
